Research Background:
KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is a synthetic tripeptide corresponding to the C-terminal residues 11-13 of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), a naturally occurring melanocortin peptide. Preclinical and in vitro research has investigated its role in modulating inflammatory signaling pathways, including effects on NF-κB activation and pro-inflammatory cytokine expression in cell culture models. Laboratory studies have also examined its cellular uptake through the peptide transporter PepT1 and its activity in epithelial and immune cell models. This compound is supplied exclusively for research purposes and is not approved for human use by the FDA.
